Rachel – Day of the Dead

Shooting Rachel was a blast, and it almost didn’t happen. The girl seems to conjure downpours and electrical blackouts wherever we try to take her. (Magic?) So although Round 1 of her Day of the Dead Candy Skull shoot was rained out repeatedly and ended up in my basement, we finally got a clear, crisp night at the Big E filled with awesome food, awesome shots, and ocelots. Okay, no ocelots, but it rhymed.

Brenizer Method Bokeh Panorama Contest

By all accounts, Mr. Ryan Brenizer is among the world’s best wedding photographers, so needless to say, getting two mentions in his Brenizer Method Bokeh Panorama Contest is quite an honor. I first heard of the Brenizer method about five years ago, and IMMEDIATELY attempted my own version… to great effect. I’ve since used it on a number of occasions, for both it’s intended depth of field effect, and to solve problems on the fly. For the contest I submitted my first ever bokeh panorama, as well as one taken just for this contest. Both got honorable mentions, and I’m pretty proud of both. Check em out, along with lots of other amazing entries here.

Amber & Heather

I’d like to avoid the politicization of love as much as possible, but it’s worth noting that this is the first time in history that two women can fall in love, and be legally married. Amber and Heather are perfect for each other, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Their engagement shoot was a BLAST, and I’m ecstatic that I get to shoot one of the the most important days of their lives.

Kara & Dimitri

Kara and Dimitri are wedding rock stars. Literally. after the reception the party hopped down the street and friends from Big Floppy Disk rocked hard into the night. Definitely one of the most beautiful and fun weddings of the year.

Erica & Brian

A gorgeous day with Erica and Brian at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, CT. We should have a behind the scenes video from this shoot coming soon!

Erica

Getting psyched for Erica and Brian’s engagement shoot tomorrow. How can I not when we already know she’s gonna make a gorgeous bride? These were taken, believe it or not, back in January at Wild Bill’s Nostalgia in Middletown, CT. Awesome building with a bunch of crazy hippie stuff inside. So we shoot Erica in a wedding dress, and less than a month later there’s a ring on her finger. Coincidence? Haha.
